
The Irish Coast Gaurd has confirmed this evening they have rescued nine people including six children after their boat suffered engine failure on Lough Derg.
The Coast Gaurd say they were alerted to the incident at approximately 3.30pm a number of onlookers spotted vessel was off course and that those on board were waving at them.
It is believed onlookers alerted the Irish Coast Guard and the Lough Derg RNLI lifeboat based at Dromineer in Tipperary shore was quickly launched.
Thankfully all nine passengers were rescued and there were no injuries reported.
