Three police officers have been rescued by the alleged drugs smugglers they were chasing it has been revealed.
According to reports in Spain, the three officers were rescued by the alleged smugglers after they went overboard from the vessel they were travelling in.
It is believed that the officers got into difficulties when the boat collided with the alleged smugglers vessel.
However rather than flee the scene the would be traffickers decided to listen to over looking police helicopter and decided to pull the officers onto their own vessel.
Their efforts however went unrewarded as they were immediately arrested after officers discovered almost three tonnes of hash floating in the water nearby.
