From what started out as allegedly a “harmless prank” Stateside has moved into a much more dangerous, sinister and disturbing area.
People started to dress as clowns during the summer in America and initially were trying to give unsuspecting individuals a “fright”, record it and put it on Facebook to get as many likes as possible.
But, like what happened with the stupid Neknomination phenomenon, the game started to get elevated. It went further to ‘clowns’ standing in the middle of the road when cars were driving towards them, generally in the middle of nowhere.
Then it went to new level recently where ‘clowns’ would chase people in a very threatening manner.
But news broke in America today that these idiots dressed as clowns have brought it to a new level. They’re now chasing people and have weapons in their hands. They were seen over the weekend with machetes, knives and one ‘clown’ even had a shotgun.
This comes hot on the heels of news breaking over the weekend that several reports to the gardai were filed over the weekend where ‘clowns’ chased people in Dublin. Numerous comments on The Liberal’s Facebook page backed up the reports and people around Ireland commented saying they stupid clown craze is happening in their area too. Have you come across it?
