Nolan says it will be six weeks before Covid-19 cases drop below 100

The chair of the National Public Health Emergency Team’s (Nphet) Epidemiological Modelling Advisory Group, Professor Philip Nolan has warned it will be at least a further six weeks before Covid-19 cases fall below 100 a day.

Speaking to RTE’s Morning Ireland programme, Professor Nolan said that although the number of cases and hospitalisations have decreased in recent weeks they are still fat too high.

He went on say that the collective effort by the public is having an effect, but it will take longer to get cases numbers down.

Nolan added that case numbers would between 200 and 400 at the end of February, whilst it will be the end of March before we see cases drop below 200.
