The Finance Minister Michael Noonan has claimed that the Fine Gael party needs another term in office in order to make sure the economic recovery isn’t squandered.

Mr Noonan believes that the return of many jobs in Ireland could be lost if power is given to the opposition. The Finance Minister made the comments whilst he was addressing fellow delegates at his party’s national conference in Castlebar, Noonan strongly believes that Fine Gael needs one more term to make sure the economic recovery is complete.

Mr Noonan told the conference: “The jobs will reduce welfare dependency, they’ll reduce poverty, and they’ll give an opportunity to our young people to come back home,” he said. “So we’re on the right track, and I’d say to the Irish people – y’know, we’re a long way towards having a very successful economy, another period in office and we can clinch it.”

Meanwhile the Taoiseach Enda Kenny is due to address his delegates later this evening.
