Northern Ireland’s voters go to the Polls to determine the next Assembly government

This morning, Northern Ireland’s voters have started to go to the polls in the Stormont election. Political parties in Northern Ireland have focused mostly on the cost of living, health services and the Norther Ireland Protocol.

Polls opened at 7am with exit polls expected around lunchtime. It’s still not known which party will hold the portfolio of the Prime Minister.

Although the positions of Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister are the same, parties will be vying for position to ensure they have at minimum an equal say.
