The airline currently offers ‘low-fare’ services to airports near Boston and New York from Cork, Shannon, and Dublin. All these flights will cease on September 15, a move that puts 134 pilot and cabin crew jobs in jeopardy.

Norwegian has become the latest casualty in the wake of the worldwide Boeing 737 MAX grounding after two fatal crashes that claimed over three hundred lives. The aircraft was used to operate all these routes, and while Norwegian did keep flying transatlantic with another model, a spokesperson said that the routes had become financially unsustainable.

Norwegian will continue operating short-haul flights to Oslo from its Dublin base.
