US attorney General William Barr has said that the US Justice Department “will get to the bottom of what happened and there will be accountability” in relation to the death of alleged child sex trafficker Jefferey Epstein.

His comments were made on Monday morning as more anomalies and inconsistencies emerged surrounding the supposed suicide of the billionaire financier.

Epstein was set to stand trial for sex trafficking of children to his private island in the Caribbean to be abused by powerful persons involved in politics, entertainment, Wall Street and business.

Last Friday some of the court documents were unsealed in relation to the case and it was apparent that some of these ultra-elite and powerful figures would be called to testify at the trial. However, the trial will never take place as just the next day Epstein managed to kill himself in his high security holding cell in Manhattan just days after he was taken off suicide watch.

It was also revealed that Epstein had told prison guards and fellow prisoners at the jail that someone has tried to kill him in the weeks before his untimely death.

The investigation into the network that employed Epstein to provide them with children to rape and abuse is set to continue however, with FBI agents and the NYPD raiding his Caribbean island of Little St. James on Monday.

British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, who was a close associate of Epstein along with three other women still faces charges of procuring girls for purpose of human trafficking.
