Hundreds of people may languish in trolleys across Irish hospitals on a daily basis, but the party for NAMA staff raves on regardless.
It has been revealed today that the number of staff on a €100,000 wage or over has actually more than doubled, despite the agency being -supposedly- wound down.
When quizzed, a spokesperson for the organization kept a tight lip as to who these big earners are, or what they do.
The spokesperson did highlight that Nama’s overall staffing had risen in general.
In a statement, the spokesperson said “Nama total staff numbers were 9 at the end of 2009, 102 at the end of 2010 and 370 at the end of 2014.”
The Government had pledged to wind the agency down and lay off staff last year. Nevertheless, by February 2015, Nama has just six fewer staff than it did at the end of 2014.
