There was some positive news in the fight against Covid-19 as the HSE have confirmed that the number of people in ICU units has fallen by 70%.
According to latest figures there are currently 64 patients with Covid-19 in ICU, the number compared to 221 at the peak of the pandemic in January.
Meanwhile the number of people in hospital with Covid-19 has fallen dramatically to 304 from 2020.
That figure marks an 85% decrease in the number of hospital cases.
