The Department of Social Protection have revealed that the number of people receiving Pandemic Unemployment Payment has fallen by 2,000 over the past week.
In an announcement the Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys said that the number of people receiving stands at 230,400.
Although Humphreys said that numbers are continuing to fall the rate at how they are falling has slowed in recent weeks.
This partly due to restrictions being imposed on counties Laois, Kildare and Offaly.
