A man aged in his 40s has been arrested following a high speed chase in South Dublin today.
The chase saw a man, reportedly wearing a hoodie, driving at high speed in a grey SUV in Dublin’s city centre.
Up to eight garda vehicles were in pursuit when the driver failed to stop at a routine checkpoint in the Walkinstown area of the city just before 11am.
A number of vehicles, including a Garda vehicle – were badly damaged during the pursuit and a motorist in his 50s was injured and taken to hospital.
The man was arrested when the chase finally came to an end at Robert Emmet in Harold’s Cross.
He is currently being questioned and held at Terenure Garda Station.
