A group of nurses were apparently left ‘off their faces’ after they consumed a cake laced with cannabis.
According to reports in the UK, the staff Warrington Hospital in Cheshire, were left high after they ate the cake which was given to them by an elderly man.
Although hospital management have denied the cake was eaten on the premises, Cheshire police have since confirmed that part of the cake was consumed at the hospital.
It is reported that the elderly man handed in the cake to say thank you for their treatment of an elderly relative who was previously a patient at the hospital.
However it is believed that the elderly man didn’t know the cake was laced with cannabis as he took it from his grandson following his 18th birthday party.
Police say who initially investigated the case back in May confirmed that the cake contained a Class B substance and it has since been destroyed.
They added that they have spoken to all parties involved and have issued a warning.
