Its going to be a very happy Christmas for seventeen nurses from Wexford General Hospital as they received an early Christmas present when they picked up their €2.8m lotto winnings at the National Lottery HQ in Dublin this morning.
The group won last Wednesday’s jackpot on their lucky 64 multi-draw ticket, which they purchased at The Kiosk, in Enniscorthy. It is believed that they will each take home more than €170,000.
The group say the syndicate was formed in 1998 by a number of nurses working in the coronary care unit of Wexford General Hospital. It is understood that eleven members of the group are now retired and six still work at the hospital in various departments.
