Police in China have arrested 64 year old Luo Renchu after he allegedly murdered three elderly people and injured fifteen more in the nursing home he worked in.
The assault took place at around 2am on Thursday morning, the first day of the Chinese New year after an argument broke out between Renchu and his boss Fang Hongchun about his unpaid wages.
Mr.Renchu and his wife who also worked in the nursing home were promised 10,000 yuan before the new year, but owner Mr Hongchun only gave them only 6,000 yuan which meant they were at a loss of of 40,000 yuan (over €5,000) according to the local government and state media.
After the dispute a furious Leo Renchu attacked the elderly of the private run home in Hunan province, injuring fifteen people and killing three more.
The local Xinhua news agency said the 15 injured were residents and included Fang’s mother and brother. Most suffered head injuries and six were in life-threatening condition.
Luo fled from the scene but local police captured him on the top of a mountain yesterday evening.
