OCI president Pat Hickey put under house arrest after judge grants his bail request




According to reports this evening OCI president Pat Hickey has been granted bail by a judge in Brazil.

Mr Hickey who is currently gacing charges for ticket touting will also not serve time in Bangu jail, even if convicted. Reports say th 71-year-old will now be held under house arrest whilst evidence is collected to form a case.

Mr Hickey was released from jail this afternoon after Judge Fernando de Almeida of the local criminal court granted him bail. Judge Almeida said releasing Pat Hickey ‘would not bring any obstacle or risk to public order’, or undermine the criminal investigation against him.
