In an unlikely and unforeseen move to, at least temporarily, help solve the out-of-control homeless problem in Dublin, the City Council are considering using an unused part of Mount Joy to provide shelter for those sleeping rough this Christmas.
It’s understood the option was discussed after the Department of Justice offered the now disused training unit to the City Council earlier this year.
The Irish Daily Mail reports that Councillors have already held meetings to discuss whether or not to use unit which has 96 beds in total over the festive.
