One person is dead and three others severely injured after a man burst into a synagogue and opened fire in Poway, near San Deigo, California.
According to MSNBC, the town’s Mayor Steve Vaus said:
“We had four folks with gunshot wounds. We do have one fatality. The rabbi was shot in the hand. My understanding is none of the other injuries are life threatening,”
“A man has been detained for questioning in connection with a shooting incident at the Chabad of Poway synagogue,” tweeted San Diego Sheriff Bill Gore.
“Deputies were called to Chabad Way just before 11:30 am,”
The shooting comes exactly six months after a gunman killed 11 people at a synagogue in Pittsburgh. It’s understood that a man has been arrested by police in relation to the incdent.
