President Donald Trump has arguably just re-elected himself for a second term, at least with his core supporters.
The US President is going to withdraw the United States from the international Arms Trade Treaty, an agreement that was signed by Barack Obama in 2013 and is said to try to control the sale of weapons between countries.
The US National Rifle Association (NRA) welcomed President Trump’s announcement saying that the treaty amounts to international gun control, and is a threat to America’s second amendment right to bear arms.
President Trump said:
“We’re taking our signature back,” to cheers from the crowd, saying “we’re defending our second amendment freedoms.”
