A poll carried out by Red C for the Simon Community claims that one in four people have been affected by homelessness.
It found that people aged between 18 and 34 are at a significantly higher rate of being homeless.
New research says that one in four of people either have themselves or know someone who are homeless.
They said people living with their family without owning their own home, couch surfing and even sleeping in their cars shows that people are actually among the hidden homeless without even realising that they were in fact homeless themselves.
The charity warns that this crisis will be with us for decades if we don’t get a hold of it now.
