One woman has been confirmed dead after a man went on a stabbing rampage in Sydney, Australia.
The incident happened at around 2pm local time. Witnesses say that the attacker ‘was covered in blood’ and was shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ as he attempted to stab people. Some say that he appeared to be under the influence of some substance.
A number of passers-by managed to disarm and pin the attacker down until police arrived. The passers-by, named locally as Paul O’Shaughnessy, Luke O’Shaughnessy, Lee Cuthbert, and Alex Roberts, were deemed ‘true heroes’.
It is understood that the body of the woman was found during a follow-up search.
