The National Lottery have confirmed that the lucky winner of Wednesday’s main lotto jackpot draw worth just over €7.1m was an online player.
In what is fifth online victory since the National Lottery launched the game online, the lucky winner will remain anonymous for the time being as the National have confirmed they are still trying to determine where the winning ticket was bought.
However in a statement late last night and National Lottery spokesperson has made contact with them to collect their winnings and that they are currently in liaison with the lucky winner.
The large win comes after the main jackpot draw had a number of consecutive role overs making it one of the largest wins of the year so far.
