A major police investigation is underway after alleged real photos of Cardiff City footballer Emiliano Sala’s body lying in a morgue was shared on social media.

The 28-yr-old striker died alongside the pilot in a small plane when it crashed into the English Channel on January 21st of this year.

His body was retrieved from the water and number of days later and was taken to Holly Tree Lodge mortuary in Bournemouth Dorset. Police have begun an investigation after someone allegedly broke into the morgue and took a number of sick images to post on social media.

They’re posted on Twitter, which many people say is been notorious for not removing horrific content in the past.

This comes just days after Sala’s father Horacio tragically died from a heart attack, many believe to be quite literally a broken heart after his son’s death 3 months ago.

Authorities have called for people to not share the images if they see them and reported to Twitter.
