There will be an increased Garda presence on our roads today, as Operation Slow Down kicks off.
Starting at 7am, and for the next 24 hours, a network of speed vans, speed cameras, and the latest gadgets in speed control -robot vans and lasers-, will dot Ireland’s roads in an effort to curtail speed-related accidents and the rising number of road fatalities.
Gardai will be working across primary and secondary roads, and also in and around known traffic black spots, or “collision zones”.
