The Sinn Fein deputy leader, Mary Lou McDonald has jumped firmly onto the water protest bandwagon. The Dublin Central TD was originally paying the water charges herself. What a hypocrite, but then again, what more can we expect from Sinn Fein?
Her PR stunt in the Dail today was nothing more than that. A suspended McDonald stayed in the Dail for 4 hours today to do one thing and one thing only – detract attention from the despicable Mairia Cahill scandal – a lady raped and forced by the IRA to confront her abuser at a kangaroo-type court.
Sinn Fein now say they don’t have confidence in the Ceann Comhairle, well what about the confidence Mairia Cahill has in Sinn Fein? McDonald, Gerry Adams and Doherty spout nothing but populous views.
Today was a simple but an effective exercise to collect votes in a feebly non-conspicuous way.
Meanwhile, the rest of us will genuinely fight water charges and won’t flip flop on our views. We won’t pay, end of story.
