It’s high time that the Health Service Executive start releasing more specific details and facts as to how Ireland is coping with the coronavirus outbreak.
We don’t just need figures, we need specific figures in locations. We need to know how hospitals are dealing with the crisis and just where exactly most cases are located.
The public also need to be told where people have died from coronavirus, it’s only fair on the Irish public to be made aware if they’re working in locations where bad outbreaks occured.
Important too is the HSE to release how many people have recovered and are recovering from covid-19 in Ireland.
There is no getting away from reality here – we are in a major pandemic. People are scared, people are confused and people feel alone.
But that’s not the case.
It’s not an overstatement to say that this is now a worldwide problem means that the world is fighting together, united as one for the greater good of mankind.
The world needs a vaccine, the world needs a cure – but as bad as that sounds, it also means that we’re not alone in this war. We’re together, we’re united as one community fighting an invisible enemy that can only be detected with a microscope.
But have faith – we will prevail, we will win – these tough days will pass and better ones will come. Stay indoors, stay safe and stay healthy. Ring your family, ring your friends, video call and see them on whatsapp, instagram, zoom or houseparty.
Just make sure to remember that you are not alone here, you are part of a much bigger team who’ll take you along to the finish line where we will once again see life restored to normal.
But for now at least, it’s vital that the public are given specifics – the media can only report what we’re given.
