Organisers of the Dublin Oktoberfest have confirmed that this year’s festival will not go ahead due to rising insurance costs.
In a statement released on Facebook, organisers said “they are not used if the claim culture that Ireland is currently experiencing.”
“The belief that putting in an insurance claim doesn’t hurt anyone except the insurance company is incorrect, consequently great fun events like ours find it hard to go ahead when suspect insurance claims from a small minority of people can ruin it for everybody.”
However the festival may go ahead next year as organisers say they are looking forward to 2020.
