The DIY chain Hombase is set to close up to 80 stores it has been reported.
The retail chain which has 250 stores across the UK and Ireland will reportedly look to close 80 of its stores under the a company voluntary arrangement.
Although it is not yet known whether any of the 11 Irish stores will be affected by closures, it is expected that over 1,000 people will lose their jobs as part of the cost cutting measures.
The brand was purchased for £1 earlier this year by the Hilco Capital company.
In a statement released on Wednesday Helico Capital confirmed that further details about the closures will be released next week.
