There has been much uproar on social media as popular American radio show host, internet personality and conspiracy aficionado, Alex Jones, who has spent years warning of censorship and erosion of free speech, has ironically been banned by Facebook, YouTube, Spotify and Apple, according to the Guardian.

Twitter have no banned Mr Jones, but then again they tend to allow practically anyone use their platform as it appears to be overrun by trolls at this stage.

All four internet giants banned Jones within hours of each other for reasons varying from allegedly “violating community standards” to promoting violence and hate speech.

The tech giants have been widely accused of selectively enforcing censorship and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was grilled for almost 10 hours by senators and representative in the U.S congress for his company’s banning of Pro-Trump and conservative pages, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Even LinkedIn and MailChimp have banned Alex Jones in what supporters online have called a an “unpersoning” a phrase from George Orwell’s prophetic book “1984” were a person is erased by Big Brother.
