Over 150,000 people across the world are to participate in the annual Darkness in Light 5km walk this morning all in the aid of the Pieta House suicide prevention charity.
The annual walk will see a number of willing volunteers from across the country leave their homes and local parks at 4:15am this morning in order to promote suicide prevention.
Speaking about the annual tradition a Pieta House spokesperson said they were honoured to have more and more people to join the campaign in recent years in order to raise awareness about a sensitive and serious issue that is currently gripping the country.
