Over a thousand people turn out at Thomond Park to pay tribute to Munster coach Anthony ‘Axel’ Foley




There were emotional scenes in Limerick last night as almost a thousand of people lined up outside Thomond Park to pay tribute to Munster coach Anthony ‘Axel’ Foley who tragically passed away on Sunday.

The ex-Ireland who will be laid to rest on Friday, was brought to the home of Munster Rugby were mourning fans paid their respects to the former rugby great.

In a dignified tribute fans stood in silence and watched as Foley’s coffin draped with a giant red Munster flag, was driven by the stadium.

Meanwhile a number of Foley’s former teammates and colleagues from Shannon Rugby Club stood in a line in their official club suits to honour the 42-year old, who suddenly passed away last Sunday.
