It has been revealed that 400 people are currently languishing on trolleys across several medical facilities nationwide, waiting for a bed.
According to figures released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital is faring the worst, with 34 people in need of a bed.
Next on this grim list is University Hospital Limerick, with 30, and third is Cork University Hospital, listing 29 people on hospital chairs and trolleys today.
