The Government confirmed that the current Pandemic Unemployment Payment rates will stay in place until March 31st.
In an announcement the Tanaiste Leo Varadkar said that the current rates from €203 to €350 will remain in place despite being scheduled to be reduced on February 1st.
The Tanaiste also confirmed that the Employment Wage Support Scheme rates will remain unchanged until March 31st.
It is understood that the decision comes as a further 500,000 people are expected to claim Pandemic Unemployment Payment following the latest lockdown measures.
