Proposals put forward to hold Dail sittings just once a week during lockdown

Proposals have been put forward that would see sittings being held once a week under the latest Covid-19 restrictions.

The proposals put forward by the Ceann Comhairle and the Dail Clerk suggests that Dail sittings take place every Wednesday.

Under the proposals all sittings would be held in the Convention Centre and would only last six hours.

They also outline that no more than 45 TD’s can attend a sitting and no private members business would take place.

The proposals would have to be agreed upon by the Dail business committee before being ratified.
