The sinister incident commenced on Tuesday morning outside Armstrong Primary School on College Hill, Armagh, where a young boy was taken. A massive police operation was immediately launched, and the child was recovered safely in Belfast some hours later.
A 42-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were arrested at the scene. The man was charged with attempted abduction. The woman was released without charge.
A PSNI spokesman said: “The arrests followed the report of a young child being taken from school premises in Armagh city on Tuesday morning.
“An investigation was immediately put into place by police and enquiries led to Belfast where the man and woman were arrested and the child recovered.”
