A paranoid vegan has pleaded guilty to assault after he beat his girlfriend because she “smelled like bacon”.
Christopher Ellam, (22) lashed out at his girlfriend Bethany Smith, (23)n with a vinegar bottle after she returned home from her job at a cafe “smelling of meat”.
You “fat disgusting bitch” screeched the devout vegan as his girlfriend entered their home in West Yorkshire accusing her of defying his ban on meat consumption before leaving her bruised and shaken after his attack.
He also forced her into the shower, pulling her by the hair.
At Kirklees Magistrates Court, in West Yorkshire, Ellam pleaded guilty to assault by beating, two counts of criminal damage and sending indecent or grossly offensive messages for the purpose of causing anxiety or distress.
The angry vegan was sentenced to a community order which includes a 33 day Building Better Relationships program and ordered him to complete up to 10 rehabilitation activity days and 200 hours of unpaid work.
