There has been a very mixed reaction on social media to new emojis that will be released later this year.
People are saying that it’s “political correct insanity” and that people are far too sensitive with the launch of pregnant men and non binary emojis.
The image of a pregnant man and a multiracial handshake are set to become new emojis this year.
In an announcement Unicode Consortium said the new emojis aim to show more diversity.
Amongst the new emojis a person wearing a crown can be gender neutral.
Meanwhile number of other emojis will be presented as gender neutral. There will also be a heart shaped hands emoji, whilst there will be an emoji for someone biting their lip.
It is expected that the emojis which also include a person peeking behind their fingers will be released on Apple and Google devices during the year.
