In what has been described by social media users as “political correct madness”, a primary school in Co Wicklow has confirmed that it is to introduce a gender neutral uniform policy starting from next September.
St Brigid’s National School in Greystones, Co. Wicklow will introduce the policy following approval the students Council and it will allow boys to wear skirts and girls to wear trousers if they wish to do so.
Speaking to RTÉ’s Morning Ireland Programme, the school’s Chair of the Board of Management Tom Sherlock said that the idea was “a no brainer” and that the new system will reflect the modern era.
