The funeral of Jason Corbett was held this afternoon in Our Lady Queen of Peace church in Janesboro, Co. Limerick.
Hundreds of people attended the ceremony in honour of the 39 year old father of two who was found dead in his home in North Carolina earlier this month.
His children were in attendance alongside their aunt and uncle, Tracey and David Lynch, their legal guardians.
Fr. Pat O’Sullivan led the funeral mass, fondly speaking about the young Irish man who was loved dearly by his family and friends.
He will be buried alongside his first wife, Mags, who passed away in 2006, in Castlemunget cemetery. Her family, the Fitzpatricks were in attendance at the funeral.
Corbett’s second wife, Molly Martens is currently appealing the court decision to allow his children to return to Irelamd with their aunt and uncle who were named as their legal guardians in his will.
Ms. Martens and her father, Thomas Marten, a retired FBI agent have been described by police as “persons of interest” and are being investigated.
