Contrary to predictions, it’s understood that the chainstore Penneys will not be reopening its doors tomorrow for the start of Phase 2 but will be opening on June 12th.
According to guidelines, most of their stores could reopen, but they were not expecting to reopen until June 29th and as a result, some of their shopping mall stores cannot reopen or may not be ready for social distancing purposes at the moment but will be by June 12th.
Penneys stores are set to reopen in the UK in June 15th, but Irish stores will remain shut for the foreseeable future even though the unwinding of lockdown restrictions is set to speed up.
Penneys, which operates as Primark abroad, will open in the UK on June 15.
