People who’ve had allergic reactions to food, drugs or vaccines in the past should NOT get the Pfizer vaccine

British regulators have warned that people with a history of significant allergic reactions should not get the Pfizer / BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine at this time after two people who were given the vaccine on Tuesday had allergic reactions.

Two NHS workers who received the vaccine on the first day of the mass vaccination program suffered an allergic reaction, the NHS England confirmed.

As a precautionary measure, the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Authority (MHRA) has informed the NHS that it trusts that anyone with a history of “significant” allergic reactions to drugs, foods or vaccines should not receive the vaccine.

England’s NHS announced that all institutions involved in the vaccination program have been notified.

This means that anyone who will be vaccinated from Wednesday has and will be asked about their history of allergic reactions.
