Pfizer has announced that babies will likely need three vaccines against Covid after a preliminary analysis found 2- to 4-year-olds didn’t have as strong an immune response as expected to the very low-dose shots the company is testing on the youngest children.
Pfizer and its partner BioNTech said if the three-dose study is successful, they plan to apply for emergency authorization sometime in the first half of 2022 the Associated Press reports.
Currently, numerous countries are preparing to administer a child’s dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to children aged five and up with Ireland to begin the jabbing of primary school aged children in Christmas week.
