Last May RTE and the nation lost one of its greatest sporting icons in presenter and journalist Bill O’Herlihy, and now almost a year after his tragic passing at the age of 76, the legend is about to receive a memorial in a well known Dublin pub.

The Back Page in Phibsborough are planning to unveil a very special painting of the broadcasting legend Bill in their beer garden just in time for Ireland’s grueling campaign against Sweden, Belgium and Italy this coming June.

In what surely will be a masterpiece that will pay homage to the Corkman, the painting will apparently feature Bill in his famous yellow jumper and will have his famous phrase ‘Okey Doke’ printed on the wall.

By this image taken by Stuart Kennedy the finished project will surely be something to behold.
