Planning board refuses permission to construct a new roller coaster at Tayto Park over noise pollution concerns

Proposals to build a brand new roller coaster at Tayto Park have been shot down by An Board Pleanala today, leaving both park officials and thrill-seeking fans bitterly disappointed.

Coaster 2021, which had already been approved by Meath County Council, will now not be erected after four residents living near the park lodged complaints. The complainants alleged that the ride was likely to cause excessive noise levels on an ongoing basis. The planning board upheld the complaints.

The new ride would have become a ‘landmark’ in the park, according to management.
