A major undertaking is ongoing today and tomorrow to ensure that all homeless people are well looked after during the Pope’s visit from Saturday.

Major traffic restrictions will be implemented to ensure that Pontiff has both security and an easy route through the capital but some homeless groups claim that homeless people are concerned the routes may restrict them also from residing where they normally do.

Alternative accommodation, shelter and catering facilities are said to be implemented, similar to Storm Ophelia and efforts are being made to ensure all homeless people are well looked after.

It’s understood that Pope Francis will meet homeless people when he’s here with the Capuchin centre and Fr. Kevin.
