Police hunting four men after an 83 yr-old pensioner suffers a number of injuries including a broken spine and a fractured skull during a robbery at her home




Police in Co Tyrone have confirmed they are currently hunting down four men after an elderly woman was left with serious injuries following a burglary at her home in the Sydney Street area of Aughnacloy.

In a statement released today PSNI detectives say they are currently searching for the men who carried out the burglary at the 83 year old’s home on Tuesday night.

It is believed that the pensioner who was terrified by the attackers suffered a number of injuries including a broken spine, a fractured skull and a fractured pelvis after she fell from a window during the incident at her home.

Police say the elderly woman has since been placed in medically induced coma due to the extent of her injuries.

They also say they believe the assailants involved in the attack are responsible for a number of burglaries in the region.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “We are currently appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the events that occurred on Sydney Street at approximatley 9pm on Tuesday night.” 

“We are seeking information about a dark coloured car with the registration GK56 AEG, and a silver car, possibly a Ford Focus, with the registration 06WX 6313.”

“We believe both vehicles may have been used in a number burglaries in the region in recent weeks, we are also working under the suspicions that a black vehicle was seen fleeing the scene of the crime on Sydney street via the Moore Street direction.”
