Police in Belfast appeal for information after a man was badly beaten and had nails hammered through his hands

Police in the North are appealing for information regarding the vicious assault of a 23-year-old man who had nails hammered into each hand during a burglary in north Belfast on Thursday evening.

Police the man was brutally attacked after a group of masked men forced their way into the victims house in Florence Walk at approximately 8.15pm Thursday evening. It is understood the young man was quickly taken to hospital for treatment. Police also say a woman was in the house at the time of the attack but was not injured.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson of of Belfast PSNI has appealed to anyone who may have any information on the incident to contact detectives at Musgrave Street Station on the non-emergency number 101.
