The PSNI say they are currently investigating an arson attack on a pensioner’s home in Derry.
It is understood the incident happened in the Camelia Court area of the city at approximately 6pm yesterday evening. Police say that some form of flammable liquid was poured through the letterbox of the house and set on fire.
Thankfully the 70-year-old occupant understood to be a woman managed to extinguish the fire which caused scorch damage to the door. Police also came under attack after they were called to the scene it is believed that officers had missiles thrown at them by a gang of youths.
