PSNI detectives in the North are investigating two separate incidents that happened on Christmas Eve.

The body of 63-year-old Ronald Reid was found at his apartment in Bangor. His death is being treated as suspicious after a post mortem examination uncovered some unexplained injuries.

In a separate incident, a murder investigation has been launched in East Belfast, after 41-year-old Matthew Goddard’s body was found at around 9.40pm on the same night.

It is understood that Mr. Goddard was attacked in his property and brutally beaten with his own electric guitar.

A 21-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested today in connection with Mr. Goddard’s murder and are being questioned at Musgrave Police Station.
