Police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in 2007 say that they have received “shocking” evidence which, they say, “heavily incriminates” the missing child.

According to the Irish Mirror, further evidence has been unveiled by a documentary team making a programme on the case.  The number 1 suspect, Christian Brueckner  This evidence is reportedly something which could link Brueckner to the abduction.  They say that the information will be included in the documentary which has not yet aired.

The exact nature of the evidence is not known but it is said that it allegedly shows him at the scnene of the abduction in Praia da Luz which is where Madeleine and her family were staying when she disappeared.

It has also been reported that the police are planning to charge Brueckner with the rape of a woman in Portugal and he is already serving jail time for raping a pensioner in Praia da Luz in 2005.  He was living in a camper van close to the area when the child disappeared.

Brueckner has continually denied that he had any involvement in her abduction.
